Femtosecond thin disk lasers with >10 µJ pulse energy

Abstract

We present a SESAM-modelocked Yb: YAG laser generating nearly transform-limited femtosecond pulses with 11-µJ energy at 4 MHz repetition rate and excellent beam quality. We discuss the key challenges for further increase of the pulse energy.
