Abstract

A 10-GHz microwave signal is synthesized from a 200-MHz mode-locked Er-fiber laser using a delay-locked loop with relative timing jitter of 2.4-fs (rms) [0.1Hz–1MHz] and timing drift of 0.84-fs (rms) [0.035mHz–1Hz].
