Abstract

High performance wavelength converters are required in future wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical communication systems. Several conversion techniques such as using gain saturation, four-wave mixing and quasiphase matched difference frequence generation (QPM-DFG) have been proposed.1−3 In this paper, we focus on the features of the newly developed QPM-DFG wavelength converters.
