Abstract

In high power lasers such as gas dynamic, chemical and e-beam excited systems, an unstable optical resonator has extensively been adopted to their extended gain region with using only one round trip path.1 On the other hand, combination of these high power lasers with an optical fiber is getting quite of importance for various applications such as machinery, welding and medical uses.2 Thus, it is really required to find an efficient scheme to couple the optical beam into the optical fiber from the laser oscillator efficiently. In the present paper we shall thus propose a unique hybrid type optical resonator for enabling direct coupling of the laser beam into the optical fiber, and shall theoretically analyze its application possibility CO and CO2 laser.
