Abstract

The harmonically mode-locked Erbium doped fiber (EDF) ring lasers have attracted considerable attention in recent years owing to their various applications in high speed measurements and communication systems.1–2 In this paper, we propose an easy control of the optical spectral width at a constant pulse rate by an amplitude modulated harmonic mode-locking (AM-HML) method in an EDF ring laser.
