Recent progress of liquid crystal displays

Abstract

In this paper, the fundamental important characteristics of liquid crystal are briefly introduced at first. Then, recent remark able progress of liquid crystal displays is reviewed. Finally, prospect of future LCDs with wide viewing angle, fast response and/or paper-like brightness without back light are discussed. The contents of this talk are summarized as follows.
