Stable Single Mode Microgear Cavity

Abstract

We propose a microgear cavity having a grating with the same period as that of a whispering galley mode standing wave. The FDTD simulation indicates that nonlasing modes having different order or phase are strongly suppressed and the stable single mode lasing is obtained.
