Quasi-phasematched wavelength conversion in Zn-diffused LiNbO3 waveguides

Abstract

Zn-diffused LiNbO3 waveguide devices for quasi-phasematched difference-frequency generation (DFG) were demonstrated for the first time. DFG experiments in 1.5-µm wavelength band were performed, and an efficiency of -31 dB was obtained for 10-mm interaction length.
