Rigorous Assessment of Performance Degradation Caused by Optical Filter Detuning in Optically Preamplified Receivers

Abstract

The performance degradation caused by optical filter detuning is rigorously assessed for several optical filters with -3dB bandwidths similar to the bit rate, and penalties of 4.5dB are found for detunings of half bit rate.
