Abstract

Cost-effective optical-head was developed using hybrid integration of 660nm and 780 nm laser-diodes on a Si-photodiode-plate for the DVD-RAM and CD-R compatibility. It’s jitter and tilt characteristics satisfy the specifications with 325μm distance between the two lasers.
