Abstract
Carbon dots (C-dots) with an average size of 6 nm was synthesized by hydrothermal pyrolysis of sucrose. The C-dots were further conjugated with amyloid beta 42 peptides. The functionalized C-dots were then used to localize the amyloid fibrils. The results show that the C-dots is a potential fluorescent probes for amyloid imaging.
