Evaporation rate sensor of liquids using a simple fiber optic configuration

Abstract

The volatilization or evaporation rates of liquids were measured herein using the interference between the end surface of an optical fiber and the surface of the liquid on the fiber. We also measured these rates for deionized water and 99% ethanol solution. Our technique has a low cost and simple configuration.
