Femtosecond Laser Writing Circular Cladding Waveguide in Er:SrF2 Crystal

Abstract

We report on the use of femtosecond laser to inscribe circular cladding waveguides in Er:SrF2 infrared crystals, and the minimum propagation loss (0.612 dB/cm) of the waveguide is determined at 976 nm wavelength.
