Microbubbles photothermally induced on sub-wavelength FeSi2 discs

Abstract

Photothermal conversion properties of FeSi2 discs were used to generate water vapor microbubbles. The bubble size depended on the total heat generation because the disc size and the thermal diffusion length were comparable.
