Ion-Based High-Harmonic Generation from Water Window to keV X-Ray

Abstract

Ion-based high-harmonic generation with quasi-phase-matching is proposed. The calculation shows that the relative conversion efficiency for water window/x-ray operation reaches about 15% of the perfect phase-matching condition.
