High-precision measurement of the period of diffraction gratings using a laser interference diffractometer

Abstract

Existing methods for measurement of the period of diffraction gratings using diffractometers are based on the measurements of lengths or angles between the diffraction orders. These set a limit of over 10% on the relative accuracy of measurements of periods in the submicrometer range.
