Abstract

In early works theoretical consideration and numerical simulation of the ultrashort pulses (USP) generation of different types of lasers with distributed feedback (DFB lasers) were made on the basis of various modifications of the rate equations for parameters averaged over the active medium ("point" model’) or equations in partial derivatives for slowly varying amplitudes of counterrunning generation waves and ordinary differential equations for spatial harmonic amplitudes of the generation transition inverse population were used (1-D spatial model of a DFB laser2).
