Abstract

Large cross-section e-beams proved to be efficient for preionization and excitation of high-pressure gas laser media. This paper describes an e-beam gun with a secondary electron emission (SEE) cathode and a wire ionised plasma (WIP) as anion source for the production of the secondary electrons that has been developed to meet a broad range of requirements.
