Abstract

The information presented in this paper describes the lidar potentialities and the problems that arise in lidar application to ecological monitoring of the urban air basin. The LOZA-3 lidar is used for monitoring the spatio-temporal structure and dynamics of aerosol contamination spreading. This lidar accomplishes two modes of operation. The first one accomplishes in the manual scanning regime in which displacement of a sounded object cannot be predicted and must be followed using a TV scanning system.
