Abstract

Recently, the effective generation in 3mm range has been obtained in several laser hosts (YAG, YSGG, YAP, YLF, GGG, etc.). The advantages of 3-mm lasers application in medicine stimulate not only the search for new laser media but the investigations of their operation as well. The pecularities of temporal behaviour of laser pulses are not discussed in literature devoted to application of this radiation in medicine. However, in some cases it is the temporal structure that determines the mechanisms of interaction of laser radiation with tissues. Therefore, the investigation of dynamics of 3-mm laser generation is of great importance.
