Abstract

A number of spectroscopic applications, eg, pump-probe spectroscopy, sum frequency spectroscopy, etc - require a source of picosecond high energy pulses, broadly-tuneable in near and mid-IR. Two solutions are known as most popular - optical parametric generation and mixing of dye laser radiation with that of Nd:YAG,– each not void of its definite drawbacks [1],[2].
