Abstract
The growing interest in fiber to home technologies has motivated research into devices that can select and tap off a small portion from wavelength channels carried by the fiber. To accomplish this function, a beamsplitter and a wavelength demultiplexer are both necessary (see Fig. 1). In this paper, we present a new device, a tap-off WDM based on the concept of superimposed Bragg gratings, which offers the combined functionalities.
