Abstract

Recently the transverse capacitively coupled radio frequency (CCRF) discharge was successfully employed for excitation of a considerable number of visible and infrared ionic transitions of different inert gases and metals [1]. One of the most promising as a practical radio frequency excited laser is the He-Cd laser, capable to oscillate simultaneously at many lines through the whole visible spectrum [2].
