Abstract

Sillenite type crystals like BSO, BGO, and BTO are well known for their large photoconductivity, but they also show very small electrooptic coefficients and a large optical activity. So the resulting diffraction efficiency is rather small. To overcome these disadvantages different dopands can be used. In this contribution we present investigations on BTO crystals doped with different contents of calcium, gallium, cadmium and vanadium.
