Dynamics in a CO2 Laser with Combined Action of Pump Switching and Loss Modulation

Abstract

A CO2 laser with modulated parameters displaying a variety of complex behavior has been the subject of much research over the last decade [1,2]. All previous works meant deal with the lasers operating in a cw regime. The dynamics of a pulsed laser is a more complex subject and its investigation requires sophisticated theoretical models and experiments. In this report we show some features of the dynamical behavior of a CO2 laser with pump switching and sinusoidal loss modulation.
