Abstract

Until very recently, c.w. OPOs operated above threshold were ravely used in applications, although their potential has been recognized since the early days of nonlinear optics. Through a series of technological and nonlinear materials developments this situation has completely changed. C.w. OPOs can now be designed and operated with excellent specifications and are opening up applications of practical relevance [1].
