Abstract
Wavelength(λ)-switchable large-channel-count(~100) sources are anticipated to be critical for next-generation λ-reconfigurable optical networks. In this presentation, we report a 60-channel (50 GHz spacing) fiber laser that is λ-selectable. This is achieved by using an intracavity FP (Fabry-Perot) filter1,2 to generate the desired "comb" of channels at the ITU grid and a coarsely tunable bandpass filter to select a single channel from this wavelength comb.
