Tunable Photonic Crystals with Semiconducting Constituents

Abstract

It is a well known fact of semiconductor physics that band gaps are temperature-dependent. In this talk we demonstrate that PHOTONIC band gaps may also depend on temperature. The two phenomena are, however, unrelated.
