Abstract

We show that, with only a very few modifications, grating theories can be used efficiently for the numerical analysis of waveguide problems, especially photonic crystal waveguides. To illustrate our purpose, we use hereafter the RCWA1, a versatile tool for modeling grating diffraction problems.
