Supercontinuum generation in a short tapered fibre

Abstract

A tapered optical fibre of 1 micron diameter and 30 mm length was used to generate a 200 nm wide supercontinuum from the 0 26 nJ femtosecond pulses emitted by a Ti:sapphire laser.
