Abstract
Passive Q-switching of solid-state lasers with saturable absorbers attracted much attention in the recent years However, very few solid-state saturable absorbers were reported for lasers operating around 2 μm [1]. This work is dedicated to an investigation of Cr2+:Cd0.55Mn0.45Te crystals as saturable absorbing Q-switchers for a 2.09 μm Cr,Tm,Ho:YAG laser.
