Image processing techniques for increasing the dynamic range of a Shack-Hartmann positioner.

Abstract

Traditional methods of windowing for centroid determination of the focal regions which are present in a Shack-Hartmann1 (SH) image data are not very appropiated for the application of this sensor in positioning tasks. The maximum allowed centroid displacement is limited by the size of the window. When a divergent spherical wavefront (as in the positiong case is required ) is incoming to the SH, some image processing techniques can allow us to overcome these limitations.
