Abstract

Recently an application of Co:ZnSe, CrZnSe [1] and Co:MgAl₂O₄ [2] crystals as a promising Q-switches for a flash-lamp-pumped Er:glass laser was demonstrated. Here we describe and compare the Q-switching of the CW diode-pumped 1535 nm Yb,Er:glass laser with these types of the saturable absorbers.
