Abstract
Distributed feedback (DFB) diode lasers play an important role in high resolution spectroscopy and optical metrology. 780 nm DFB lasers, that match the resonance transitions of rubidium, atoms allow application to rubidium absorption spectroscopy and atomic clocks, Doppler laser cooling and nonlinear frequency conversion experiments. These applications need high output power lasers with a stable frequency and narrow linewidth.
