Abstract

Metasurface made of plasmonic nanostructures (NS) on glass substrate is of great interest for transparent screens [1] or for augmented reality (AR) applications [2]: it can provide transparent plates with high reflectivity at specific wavelengths (i.e. blue, green, red) by choosing NS size and shape, while preserving good transparency on the whole visible range (i.e. without diffusion nor diffraction effects) thanks to suitable NS spatial arrangement [2]. Nevertheless, metasurface design must also be compatible with large area fabrication. In this context we compare the impact of NS spatial arrangement on plasmonic metasurface optical properties, considering two fabrication methods, and we show the relevance of the self-assembly based method for large area metasurface used in AR systems.
