Tuning Plasmonic Coupling from Touching to Near-touching Nanodimers via Nanometric Gap Size and Morphology

Abstract

We observe large tunability of hybridized plasmon modes by controlling the gap size and the dimensionality of the gap regions. We present electron energy-loss spectroscopy measurements and detailed theory supporting our results.
