Non-Hermiticity-Governed Active Photonic Resonances

Abstract

We depart from the notion of passive photonic resonance to study unique quantization conditions for non-Hermitian systems that lead to a novel type of resonance whose frequency shifts over wide ranges as optical gain increases.
