Abstract
Metasurface retroreflectors can dramatically reduce the size and weight of chip-based magneto-optical traps. However, large-angle optical-frequency metasurface retroreflectors suffer from low efficiency and polarization distortions. Using inverse-design we demonstrate a high-efficiency large-angle polarization-maintaining metasurface retroreflector.
