Burst Consecutive Errors Suppression with Precoding for MLSE Based 201-Gb/s IM-DD Transmission Systems

Abstract

We propose and experimentally demonstrate that the precoding can break consecutive errors from MLSE in a 201-Gb/s PAM-8 IM-DD system. We find the maximum length of burst consecutive errors is reduced from 16 to 2.
