Observing the Uncoupling of Electron Motion from the Molecular Frame in Photoelectron Angular Distributions

Abstract

We observe the uncoupling of an electron’s motion from the molecular frame through angle-resolved photoelectron imaging of a Rydberg orbital of N2. This allows for ultrafast measurements in a distinct regime of non-Born-Oppenheimer molecular dynamics.
