The 4FAD: a high-extinction-ratio, achromatic, temperature-insensitive, high-damage-threshold, all-fiber, power-selective filter

Abstract

We disclose a novel, power-selective, low-insertion-loss, all-fiber device, based on the interaction of self-phase modulation and cross-phase modulation in a segmented, birefringent waveguide. The 4FAD provides new functionality of great value for pulsed laser systems.
