Photonic frequency synthetic dimensions for high-dimensional convolutions

Abstract

We show that high-dimensional convolution can be realized in a single dynamically modulated optical ring resonator. The high-dimensional convolution introduced here has broad applications, such as 3D convolution for motion detection and scene reconstruction.
