Backward Rocket Propulsion of Particles Optically Trapped in Hollow-core Photonic Crystal Fiber

Abstract

Single particles, optically levitated in the hollow core of a photonic crystal fiber, are impulsively propelled backwards at very high speed by the ablation jet created by incidence of a single femtosecond pulse.
