Abstract

Quantitative photoacoustic tomography aims at estimating optical parameters of tissue utilising the photoacous-tic effect. In this work, spectral optical parameters are estimated in one-step from photoacoustic data utilising a Bayesian approach to inverse problems. Forward model is constructed by presenting optical absorption and scattering by their spectral representations, and by combining the models for light and ultrasound propagation. The proposed methodology is evaluated with numerical simulations in full view and limited view geometries.
