Abstract

We investigate the benefit of implementing spectral shaping on DFTS-OFDM with respect to fiber nonlinearity tolerance. For both SSMF and LEAF, it is found that optimized spectrally shaped DFTS-OFDM outperforms DFTS-OFDM for dispersion managed and unmanaged links by ~10.8% and ~6.8%, respectively.
