Abstract

Unstable orbits (steady states as well as limit cycles) have recently become objects of intense interest of the experimental laser dynamics.1 Mainly it is caused by the fact that identifying unstable states is the first necessary step in the method of chaos control.2 Besides, the unstable states provide direct information on the limits of the basin of attraction of different attractors and can be used to characterize their topological properties.
