Abstract

Basic features of solitons in different nonlinear optical systems depend on the system geometry, medium nonlinearity, and existence or absence of feedback. In this report we investigate and compare the solitons, features for the following systems: (a) transparent medium with nonlinearity of refractive index; (b) wide-aperture nonlinear interferometer exited by external radiation; (c) wide-aperture laser with saturable absorption; (d) single-mode optical fiber with sections of gain and absorbing media under conditions of anomalous dispersion.
