Abstract

In Ref. 1 we reported travelling wave type I optical parametric generation (OPG) with angular tuning using ZnGeP2 and GaSe crystals pumped by 100 ps 2.94 µm pulses of Er:YAG-laser. Type II synchronism was also achieved1 in ZnGeP2 but it had restricted tunability. In this experiment we used an advanced mode-locked Er:Cr:YSGG-laser (λ = 2.8 µm) as a pump source for highly efficient travelling-wave optical parametric generators based on ZnGeP2 (type I and II) or GaSe (type I and II) crystals.
