Abstract

In the present work we treat problems of propagation by expanding the field operators in terms of mode operators associated with definite frequencies. Since a mode with a definite frequency is connected to energy eigenket with eigenvalue ħω, the Hamiltonian of such mode is of the form H^0=ωa^ω+a^ω with no interaction term.a^ω and a^ω+ are the creation and annihilation operators for the flux of photons in a cross section A, and time T and a^ω+a^ω is the number operator for this flux of photons.
