Abstract
Among the different OPOs, triply resonant OPOs (TROs), in which the signal, idler, and pump modes are simultaneously resonating in the optical cavity, are of special interest if one wants to obtain very low pump power oscillation thresholds, reachable for example by semiconductor single mode lasers. Their oscillation threshold, output power, and stability have been theoretically studied,1,2 as well as their quantum noise properties.3,4 It has been shown in particular that if one takes into account possible detunings between the cavity modes and the three interacting fields, TROs may display bistable or unstable behaviours.2 Good squeezing is in particular predicted in the reflected pump beam when the system is close to the bistability threshold.4
